Arts X

Arts X was a collaborative group project for BGSU’s School of Art’s Arts Extravaganza event. The theme for this year was Make. Believe. It encapsulates the idea of playing making believe and creating worlds beyond your wildest dreams but also, capturing the process as a designer/artist of bringing even your wildest ideas to life through hardwork and determination. The group worked collectively to brand the event and create all the promotional items including the “ARTS X” display piece.

The main display piece is over 7 feet tall and features an X made up of tiny environments that represent the merging of all the majors within the School of Art coming together on one night to display their talents. It is made out of cut pieces of wood with each one being hand painted by members of the group. The process required creating illustrations of each environment, piecing out the separate elements within each environment and then having it cut out with a CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machine.
